THE NATIVITY SCHOOL HISTORY The Nativity School is located in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe and opened its doors in September 1996 as an integral part of the Church of the Nativity. The addition of the school represented phase two of the master plan of the parish and its commitment to serving the spiritual, academic, emotional and physical needs of Catholic families. The Nativity School is dedicated to providing a challenging educational environment, as well as developing character development and decision making skills nurtured in our Catholic values. A differentiated approach to education is the foundation that cultivates the intellect and promotes the sound spiritual, social, emotional and physical growth of our students. MISSION The Nativity School is a ministry of the Church of the Nativity, where the love of Jesus Christ and Catholic educational tradition guide the formation of students’ minds, bodies and souls to their full potential through spiritual direction, academic growth and Christian service. JOB DESCRIPTION The Nativity School is looking for a part-time Office Assistant to work with our School Office Manager and administrative team. The 10-month position will begin on August 7, 2023 and run through June 14, 2024. Diocesan jobs are renewed on an annual basis at the discretion of the principal. SALARY/COMPENSATION - Monday through Friday 9:00am-1:00pm (or similar) Hourly pay commensurate with experience ($18-22) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out daily office work. JOB DESCRIPTION

The Nativity School is looking for a part-time Office Assistant to work with our School Office Manager and administrative team. The 10-month position will begin on August 9, 2021 and run through June 10, 2022. Diocesan jobs are renewed on an annual basis at the discretion of the principal.


SALARY/COMPENSATION

Part-time - Monday through Friday 7:45am-1:00pm

Hourly pay commensurate with experience 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide assistance for daily office work. 

  • Maintain the school’s Learning Management System (SchoolSpeak).

  • Update posts and news stories to the school’s website and social media.

  • Maintain and update student and family records and information.

  • Oversee all report cards and data collection.

  • Prepare/run copies, put together mailings and update cum files. 

  • Coordinate enrollment for new and returning families.

  • Post the daily student lunch list.

  • File papers in student folders. 

  • Answer the office phone and office emails in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Help monitor the logging of campus visitors during school hours.

  • Post school related items in the weekly parish bulletin. 

  • Cover the front office desk during lunch and as needed. 

  • Substitute for office manager when she is out. 

  • Help with basic first aid issues and maintain health related supplies..

  • Post all school alerts to various platforms. 

  • Attend school functions and activities as requested by principal


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have experience working with various technology systems.

  • Must be able to work with several different social media platforms.

  • Must be flexible and able to multitask.

  • Punctual, well-organized and friendly.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality. 

  • Must work cooperatively with the teaching and administrative staff.

  • Exhibit a professional demeanor. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships.

  • Ability to address the needs of parents and children.

  • Must be comfortable working with elementary age children.

  • Ability to complete work that requires standing, sitting and walking.

  • The ability to work within the basic tenets of the Catholic faith.


WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Some college or degree work preferred.

  • Experience working in an office setting (school setting preferred).

  • Technology based work experience preferred.
