ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This is a small school, consisting of 7-8 classrooms and approximately 140 students. This is a leadership position, similar to an Assistant Principal role, except with Special Education coordination instead of instructional coaching as part of the job duties. Oversee the Coordination of the Special Education program: -An Ed Specialist intern with a caseload of approximately 20 students - 3 related service providers and approximately 3 skilled paraprofessionals -Compliance-related aspects of Special Education and required reporting -Provide staff development to school’s staff regarding students with disabilities. -Serve as administrator during IEP meetings. MTSS/SST Coordinator -Lead MTSS program and SST process -Hold SST meetings as necessary and track student progress Assessment Coordinator -Coordinate administration of all state and school assessments (ELPAC, CAASPP, NWEA MAPs, and other curricular assessments) Restorative Practices -Provide support as needed for student discipline, incorporating restorative practices -Hold meetings as necessary with parents relating to student discipline/behavior OTHER FUNCTIONS: Perform related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree CA Teaching Credential for Mild/Moderate Disabilities/Education Specialist or Licensed Educational Psychologist Work Experience: Experience teaching in the field of Special Education is required; not including student teaching. At least 5 years of experience in the Special Education Field is preferred. Management experience required. Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred)
