The two-year Associate Degree Nursing Program, accredited by the Board of Registered Nursing prepares students for entry-level employment as registered nurses in hospitals and community settings. Teaching assignments will be available in the medical/surgical, mental health, obstetrics or pediatric clinical areas of the program. Faculty will be responsible for supervising students in clinical learning experiences, campus-based nursing practice labs, seminar groups, or nursing simulation labs during the first or second year of the program. Faculty may have lecture and/or clinical teaching assignment in more than one course. Part-time faculty assignments may consist of up to 67% of a full-time faculty load.
Faculty job responsibilities include the development/review of curriculum and assessment of learning outcomes to improve teaching and learning in achieving El Camino College's mission of institutional effectiveness, quality educational programs, and vibrant student support services. Some assignments may include evenings, weekends, and/or dual enrollment courses offered offsite on high school campuses.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Nursing; OR
Bachelor's in nursing AND Master's in health education or health science; OR

Valid California Registered Nurse License or eligibility for California Licensure as a registered nurse, AND

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Clinical experience in an accute care facility demonstrating expertise in obstetric and/or pediatric, medical-surgical or mental health nursing.
Recent experience in more than one nursing discipline area is highly desirable.

SALARY:
Part-time faculty are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District. The beginning rate is $96.39 - $116.13 (lecture), $73.06 - $88.00 (lab), per hour depending on education and experience.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a part-time, temporary position for the fall semester, beginning August 26, 2023. Assignments may include off-site locations.
