OVERVIEW The Library Media Specialist collaborates with teaching staff in the development of student literacy through the administration of the library media program, provides specialized instruction to students and teaching staff, and oversees the selection, organization, utilization, and maintenance of library, information, and curriculum resources. The mission of the Library Media Program is "to ensure that students are effective users of information enabling them to be lifelong learners". MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: o Ability to pass a Department of Justice (DOJ) fingerprint clearance o Completion of a Bachelor’s degree o Legal authorization to work in the U.S. o Possession of a valid California Teaching Credential, in appropriate content area, as required by the California Education Code o Possession of an English Learner Authorization (also known as CLAD or BCLAD) may be required o Within 60 days of hire, provision of TB (tuberculin) clearance, as mandated by the California Education Code
