Job Summary

The Greater Avenues for Independence (GAIN) Division is seeking a Career Development Program Assistant to support one of its career development programs located in Chatsworth. The Career Development Program Assistant performs a variety of clerical duties related to each program, as well as assisting instructors with classroom setup, assisting program participants with job search activities, and the preparation and presentation of job search and placement information. Requirements / Qualifications

Education: Graduation from high school or its equivalent. Experience: One year of clerical experience in an office setting that involved regular contact with clients or the public. Additional Requirements: Some positions in this classification require oral and written skills in a second designated language. Some positions in this classification require the possession of a valid California driver's license and available transportation or ability to provide transportation between job sites. Hybrid remote schedules are currently not offered for this position, but may be available in the future. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19. Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of Broad-Based Clerical/Secretarial Computer Examinations which consist of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and a Structured Interview. Candidates who have already participated in and passed the Broad-Based Clerical/Secretarial Computer Examinations are also eligible to apply.
