Santa Ynez Valley Union High School is located in the pristine Santa Ynez Valley – a quaint, rural community, just inland from the beautiful central California coast. The “Pirates” have a long and rich tradition of excellence and are proud to be among the highest achieving high schools in Santa Barbara county! The campus of approximately 850 students is supported by the principal, vice principals, counselors, and high-performing faculty and staff. The ideal candidate to lead Santa Ynez Valley High School: • Has and promotes a Growth Mindset in students, staff, and our community • Has the interpersonal, listening, and teacher advocacy skills required to lead in a dynamic and innovative school culture • Has experience supporting extracurricular and athletic opportunities for all students • Has experience in leading transformational instructional practices at the 9-12 level (project-based learning, deeper learning, student centered learning, etc.) • Has experience in developing CTE pathways and Community College partnerships • Is deeply committed to Shared Leadership and collaborative problem solving • Is able to manage initiatives and co-lead across several committees • Is committed to developing a culture that supports future ready learning for all students • Is able to align decision making with the Mission, Vision and Core values of SYVUHSD
