Requirements / Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION INCLUDE: • Graduation from high school and five years bus driving experience including two years of dispatching experience. • Copy of Valid CA Class B commercial driver's license with passenger, air brake and “S” endorsements, Valid California Special Driver's Certificate, and Valid medical certificate. • Knowledge of principles, methods, techniques and strategies for development of efficient school bus routes. • Knowledge of California Motor Vehicle Code, the Education Code and administrative rules and regulations applicable to the transportation of pupils. • Knowledge of State and Federal rules and regulations applicable to training of school bus drivers. • Knowledge of transportation software routing programs. • Ability to operate a two-way radio and standard office equipment. • Ability to present information at bus driver in-service training and safety programs. • Ability to perform and coordinate work involving independent judgment and requiring speed and accuracy as well as being able to maintain records and prepare reports. • Ability to maintain confidentiality with staff and student information.
