BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned administrator, perform and supervise major oral and written translations from English to a designated second language; prepare reports and disseminate spoken and written information at District and public meetings, to parent groups and outside agencies; provide written and simultaneous oral translation for complex District, Special Education and legal meetings and programs; assist in screening the oral and written language qualifications of candidates for advanced biliterate positions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree in social services, international studies, education, business or a related field and three years experience in translating and interpreting complex, preferably school or social services-related, material. LICENSES OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Class C driver's license. Incumbents are required to speak, read and write in the designated second language (Spanish)
