Job Summary

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom environment in English and a designated second language; assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of lesson plans; provide routine clerical support.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education: High School graduate or the equivalent. Associate Degree or 48-semester units of college course work from an accredited college or university. Or Testing: Passing scores on District Paraprofessional test, within the last three (3) years. And: Passing scores on District tests: Spanish Bilingual Skills, Spanish/English Translation I, Spanish/English Oral Translation, within the last 3 years. Experience: Sufficient experience working with school-age children in an organized setting or learning environment. Any combination of training and/or experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be considered. Other: Spanish/Bilingual Required WORK YEAR AND WORKING HOURS: “D”; 6 hours per day; 181 days per year; 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
