The Multiple Subject/General Education Teacher is employed by John Muir Charter Schools (JMCS) and is responsible for classroom instruction of young people (age 16-24) participating in the Rancho Cielo Youth Campus in Salinas, Ca. The teacher will work closely with the Rancho Cielo staff team to integrate Rancho Cielo’s mission into the classroom. The Multiple Subject Teacher will be responsible for assisting students in Rancho Cielo programs to complete their high school diploma and to provide necessary support services to enable participants to be successful. The teacher will assist with enrolling and assessing students to determine the proper course of study that will lead to a high school diploma and prepare them for successful continuation to post-secondary education. The teacher’s primary role will be to instruct students in multiple subjects at multiple skills levels. The teacher reports jointly to the JMCS Site Director/Principal.
Requirements / Qualifications
• A current California Multiple Subject teaching credential, or ability to acquire Provisional Intern or Short Term Staff Permit while working towards credential. Single Subject credentials may be accepted in some circumstances. • Authorization for Supporting English Language Learners required
