Requirements / Qualifications

GENERAL INFORMATION: The Afterschool Program Assistant Site Supervisor will be employed to help oversee Expanded Learning programs. The Expanded Learning Programs operate: Afterschool, Before School and Summer Camp, each of which comprises activities that will be conducted when programs are in session. The Program is designed to improve students’ academic performance and connection to school and the greater community, as well as to strengthen students’ extracurricular and social skills. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: AA degree OR 48 College credits OR passing grade on District Instructional Aide test (CASAS). Experience: Classroom aide/related experience working with youth in school or community-based settings preferred and experience leading a team preferred. Ability to read and write in Spanish is a plus. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general direction of the Napa County Office of Education Afterschool Site Supervisor, the Assistant Site Supervisor will be responsible for the following: • Communication: Develop and maintain a high level of communication and positive relationships with principal, teachers, office staff, cafeteria staff, custodians, and afterschool staff. • Development and Implementation: Help manage day-to-day operations of the program. • Recruitment, Coordination and Supervision: Recruit and enroll program participants to meet daily attendance requirements set forth by the California Department of Education. Coordinate and supervise after school activities with the collaborative support from afterschool staff. • Compliance: Help oversee facility management, and help coordinate implementation of core afterschool, before school and summer camp program operations, including attendance, supper, custodial services, scheduling, security, and safety.

JOB DUTIES: • Help administer an afterschool program. • Assist Site Supervisor in achieving program goals. • Assist program instructors to develop daily academic and enrichment curricula. • Assist program instructors in planning and implementing all related afterschool activities for students and parents. • Support data tracking by keeping accurate attendance and program activity records. • Support in the collection and preparation for all the documents for the supper program at site. • Be responsible for monitoring school site safety issues and maintaining appropriate student behavior at all project related activities. • Ensure the appropriate use of school site buildings and equipment by students. • Act as a liaison between the afterschool program, school day staff, AmeriCorps Mentoring program and community organizations. • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all services provided and other related paperwork. • Develop program protocols with the input from the afterschool staff. • When programs are in session, oversee a classroom of 10-20 students. • Coordinate staff meetings one day per week with the support of the Site Supervisor. • Regularly participate in meeting with school staff to plan integrated activities and attend school faculty meetings when possible. • Attend job related conferences and trainings when offered; develop system for dispersing learned information to afterschool staff. • Perform other job-related duties as necessary to accomplish goals and objectives of the project as determined by the Afterschool Site Supervisor.
