Job Summary
WESS Transportation Services is seeking a skilled School Bus Dispatcher/Scheduler to join our team. The School Bus Dispatcher/Scheduler will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and timely transportation of passengers. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling buses, dispatching drivers, and communicating with team members and customers. Key Responsibilities: * Schedule bus trips and assign drivers to ensure timely transportation of passengers. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of driver assignments. * Communicate with drivers. * Respond to emergency situations and make necessary adjustments as needed. * Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, policies, and procedures. * Maintain a positive working relationship with all team members. * Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repairs for the school bus fleet.
Requirements / Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent. * Computer knowledge. * 2+ years of experience in dispatching or scheduling. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. * Knowledge of transportation regulations, policies, and procedures. * Proficient in using computer software, including Microsoft Office and transportation management systems. * Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. * Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons. * Current Class B drivers license, air brake and passenger endorsement, school bus certificate or the ability to obtain them.
