Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: BA in Early Childhood Education or related field and a current Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or higher required. Master’s degree preferred. 3-5 years of experience working with children ages 3-12 years old in a preschool and after school enrichment program Experience working in a special education or inclusion program and/or specialized training or education in special education, such as Universal Design for Learning and/or Embedded Instruction for Learning, preferred. 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience working in a supervisory or mentoring role supporting preschool and after school classrooms Working knowledge or the ability to learn District adopted software: Google suite software, Google Classroom, Google Hangout and/or Zoom, etc. CPR and First Aid Certified Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam Must be able to walk, squat, bend and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for the day to day operation of the early education program serving children in preschool through 8th grade. Provide leadership in the collaboration with the special education team to develop a successful co-teaching team in an integrated preschool learning setting. Establish successful partnerships with both the Elementary and Middle School leadership and teaching staff of the schools the program serves Provide leadership in creating developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children for both preschool and school age children. Responsible for ongoing development, implementation, evaluation and oversight of the child-centered, play-based curriculum for all children Knowledge of and/or experience with High Scope, Developmentally Appropriate Practices, QRIS, Preschool Learning Foundations, Teaching Pyramid, Universal Design for Learning, Desired Results Developmental Profile and/or ECERS/SACERS preferred. Manage center financial, marketing and enrollment functions.

Work collaboratively with other staff by role modeling workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player. Ability to problem solve, use good judgment, communicate effectively both verbal & written, set priorities and goals, resolve conflict and manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Provide excellent customer service for families, school, and community. Site Supervisor may be in ratio to assist with breaks/absences.
