KUSD teachers enjoy many benefits including a four-day work week and a school calendar that features breaks in the Fall, Winter, and Spring, as well as six weeks off in the summer! The Monday through Thursday work week and 148-day contract provide for a work-life balance difficult to match. This regular, full-time teaching position for our 2025-2026 school year is at Kingman Unified School District's Desert Willow Elementary School in Kingman, AZ. Home of the Diamondback Rattlesnakes is what our students at Desert Willow are known as. Ms. Blattner the school Principal has filled the halls with joyful students by implementing a project-based learning enviroment for students to put their knowledge to the test and connect their learning with real-world applications. Providing the children with an educational foundation for lifelong sucess.

 

Requirements / Qualifications

Required Education and Experience Master's Degree in Education or more advanced degree Five or more years of teaching experience Preferred Education and Experience Administrative experience in a school environment Required Certifications/Licenses Current Arizona Standard Professional Principal, PreKindergarten-12 Certificate Valid Arizona Driver's License Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be able to pass a criminal history check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Summary/Objective Responsible for providing assistance to the Principal in the administration of instructional leadership to staff including: curriculum planning, review and implementation; and professional development. Responsible for day-to-day building administration and the safety and welfare of students, staff and activities. Ensures a safe, pleasant and effective educational atmosphere. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Respond to all internal and external customers, as it relates to job, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner Serve as administrative head of school in the absence of the principal Administer a program of student discipline and interact with students to encourage positive performance Assist with staff evaluations Assist in management of building staff, including class schedules and building problems Assist in scheduling special events during the school day Assist with the development and coordination of the master schedule Provide general supervision to students Supervise extracurricular activities Maintain positive relationships with parents and the community Other Duties This job description is not a comprehensive listing of duties, responsibilities, or activities that are required of the employee for this job.
