Job Summary

Job Summary

The job of Paraprofessional - ELL is done for the purpose/s of assisting in the initial and annual assessment and progress of students' English language skills; assisting assigned teaching personnel in the supervision, instruction, and positive support of ELL students; administering tests; and serving as a resource to school personnel in communicating with non-English speaking students and parents. Paraprofessionals are required by the NCLB to be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and the ability to, assist with instruction, reading/language arts, and mathematics, either by possessing an Associate’s Degree or Higher, or 48 Semester College Units, or passing a minimum proficiency exam. Open and Competitive - 16 hours, 20 hours, and 30 hours per week available Basic & Skills Exams: By appointment Oral Exam: To be determined Final Interview: To be determined Benefits: • Health & Welfare Package: A variety of medical, dental, and vision plans are available for employees working 20 hours or more per week.
