Job Summary
The Art Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines and CA State Content standards; to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of art. The Art Teacher has decision making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal and vice principal. This part-time, K-8th grade position requires 20-25 hours per week and is not benefits-eligible.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Bachelor or Master’s degree Required, 2+ years Teaching Experience in elementary grade classes • MUST have strong knowledge of Catholic faith, curriculum, and liturgies, especially in the sacraments of penance, first Eucharist, and Confirmation (Catechist Certification preferred) • Must have strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills. Computer proficiency and solid experience with online platforms (such Google Classroom and Student Information Systems) is required. • Must possess a strong work ethic. Some late evenings and weekends will be required. • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Must be extremely detail oriented, creative, resourceful and organized.
