Job Summary
Start your career in transportation as a professional school bus driver with Redlands Unified School District! The School Bus Driver Trainee Program is designed to provide paid training and guide prospective bus drivers through the process of obtaining the necessary licenses and certifications to become a school bus driver with the Redlands Unified School District. This program will consist of serving as a Bus Aide for either a morning or afternoon route, classroom training and behind the wheel training. Applicants must attach a DMV K4 printout, a copy of high school diploma, transcripts or equivalent and a current CPR certificate. Those that submit an application will be invited to an informational meeting that will provide additional details of the program. Informational meeting will be held after the close of the application period. Applicants will be emailed details of the informational meeting date, time and location TBD.
Requirements / Qualifications
Substitute Bus Aides/Bus Driver Trainees assist Special Education students while on the school bus. This includes properly assisting students on and off the school bus, securing them in their seats, assisting in some medical needs (training will be provided) and monitoring student behavior while on the school bus. Before/After Substitute Bus Aide shift, Trainees will participate in classroom and behind the wheel School Bus Driver training.
