Job Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Student Services Director provides leadership and direction for the school in the areas of counseling, school safety, student discipline, and before-and-afterschool programming. The Student Services Director works closely with administrators, teachers, counseling staff, and campus monitors in implementing the school’s mission and vision. The Student Services Director assists in developing emotional, academic and behavioral interventions that support student success; oversees campus safety by creating comprehensive crisis and emergency plans for NCS; coordinates safety drills and mandated training, and supports academy principals in effective campus culture and student discipline. An ideal candidate will have a strong passion for creating equitable and comprehensive student support systems. For the coming school years the Student Services Director will work closely with our middle and high school teams to develop and implement social emotional and student discipline systems with a focus on safety, restorative practices, and positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS). This individual will also work closely with our before-and-after school program staff to develop and refine programming to support students at the Blackrock and Star Academy campuses.

Minimum Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s Degree, Master's Degree - Administrative Services Credential - Professional Experience as a Student Services Director or related position - Professional Experience as a K-12 school site administrator Other Requirements: Must hold a valid California Driver’s License and must provide proof of automobile insurance coverage. Testing of tuberculosis (skin test or chest x-ray) is required upon employment and every four years thereafter. Clearance from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) required upon employment.
