Sacred Heart School is actively seeking a motivated and caring individual to fill the role of Teacher's Assistant and Yard Duty Support for our Middle School Program. This dual-role position is central to promoting a nurturing, secure, and conducive learning environment for our students, reflecting our commitment to the core values of reverence, respect, and responsiblity. Key Responsibilities Classroom Assistance: Support lead teachers in daily classroom activities, lesson plan implementations, and student assessments. Help in preparing teaching materials and classroom set-up. There may be times when you will be solely responsible for the class. Student Support: Provide additional help to students on an individual or small group basis with assignments, reading, and other educational activities. Yard Duty Supervision: Oversee students during recess, lunch breaks, and other outdoor activities to ensure a safe and respectful playing environment. Implement positive behavior strategies and manage minor disputes among students. Administrative Support: Assist with clerical duties such as record keeping, grading, and organizing educational resources. Event Participation: Actively participate in school events, field trips, and other community-building activities. Faith Integration: Support the integration of the school’s Catholic values into daily activities and lessons, fostering a faith-filled educational environment. Qualifications Education & Experience: High school diploma required; some college coursework in education, child development, or a related field preferred. Prior experience working with children in an educational setting is a plus. Skills: Effective communication skills, patience, and the ability to work well with children.
