Job Summary

Job Summary

The Director of Faculty Development is a dynamic educational leader who works collaboratively with the Vice President for Academic Life to provide for overall supervision of the faculty. The Director of Faculty Development provides instructional planning, alignment of goals, programs, instruction and assessment, as well as develops details for Professional Learning Days and the general support for faculty development. This position participates in the search and interview process for new faculty, assists with the orientation and mentoring program for new faculty, and facilitates faculty professional development activities. The Director of Faculty Development has up-to-date knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning that come from research, literature in education, and practitioners in the field. Along with being the WCEA/WASC School Accreditation Coordinator, the Director of Faculty Development also serves as the Coordinator of the Knowledge and Skill Based Pay (KSBP) Program and Chair of the Challenge Success Committee.

Requirements / Qualifications

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE • Understands and helps to uphold the school’s Mission, Vision, and Philosophy, especially the school’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging throughout all levels of the school. • Has 3-5 years of previous secondary-level administrative experience including significant supervisory experience. • Thrives in, actively supports, and promotes a collaborative, dynamic, and faithful learning community. A successful candidate will be actively involved in their own professional learning and development as a model for the faculty. • Brings a pastoral sense of care for the faculty and the ability to balance gratitude and appreciation with an expectation of continued growth and professionalism. • Has an understanding of Lasallian Catholic traditions and values. • Has excellent time management and organizational skills and can model and teach those skills to others. • Has experience with budget creation and management • Is comfortable with speaking in front of large audiences. • Has exemplary communication and conflict management skills that promotes belonging, union in community, and high performance as team members and as individuals • Is skilled in the use of educational and business software, specifically Google Suite, learning management systems, and school information systems. • Is skilled at creating and interpreting multiple types of quantitative and qualitative data and is committed to operating as a data-informed administrator • Has a proven record as a highly successful educator and positive mentor for both adults and adolescents • Master’s Degree required
