DESCRIPTION: The Director, Special Services must possess specialized in-depth knowledge and experience in leadership in the program and fiscal administration of special education programs with primary responsibilities that encompass compliance and program quality assurance, fiscal management, personnel matters, curriculum implementation, and coordination and collaboration of interagency work at local, regional and state levels. QUALIFICATIONS: Credentials and Experience: • California Administrative Services Credential • California Education Specialist or Pupil Personnel Services, Clinical and Rehabilitative Services or School Nurse Services Credential or equivalent • Master's Degree in Special Education or related field • Three years of successful teaching experience. This experience may be teaching, pupil personnel work (school psychology, school counseling, etc.), health services or clinical or rehabilitative services • Previous experience in the administration of special education programs and the supervision of personnel
