Requirements / Qualifications
The Westminster School District is seeking a dynamic and innovative teacher leader who possesses the passion and skills to work collaboratively with staff to further develop the Vietnamese Dual Language instructional program. This is a recruitment for an Instructional Support Specialist (ISS) for the Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion Program. Under the direction of the Educational Services Leadership Team, this certificated position will be assigned to serve as a resource for teachers in instruction, curriculum, assessment, professional development, and technology. Candidates must have a valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a Bilingual Authorization in Vietnamese is preferred but not required, and the knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive support to the Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion program (including curriculum development, researching for and obtaining resources in Vietnamese, and marketing/outreach). Candidates must be able to provide support with a variety of effective instructional strategies, techniques and educational practices. The Instructional Support Specialist is expected to skillfully involve parents and community members in the teaching and learning process. A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience is necessary. Strong knowledge of curriculum & instruction and background or degree in linguistics is desired.
