Job Summary

Position Overview Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Site Supervisor is responsible for the academic, social and emotional growth and development. The Site Supervisor is also responsible for the supervision of the Lead Teachers and Associate Teachers assigned to the classroom and will oversee all after school program activities provided by all staff in the after-school program. Duties Management -Establishes policies and procedures to support After School Program goals. -Gathers, reviews and analyzes data to ensure that the program is in compliance with Federal, State, and Agency standards. -Maintains attendance records, up to date emergency forms, curriculum plans, individual child development profile and other records as needed. -Completes orientation of the new clients and staff. -Ensures that program events are mutually coordinated and represented across all sites and other programs such as Early Education Programs and Charter Schools. -Attends regular meetings with Charter School, After School Program and Integrated Services team to ensure continuity of program philosophy and approaches. -Works collaborative with Charter School, community partners, collaborators, and Early Education Program staff. -Completes and maintains checklist to ensure that center is kept up to standards for health and safety. -Completes and maintains training evaluation forms for staff meetings and trainings attended. -Represents the agency during all site visits for Community Care licensing, CCTR, ASES, Health & Safety, Food Services and other entities. -Along with classroom teacher will assist in the development and implementation of a holistic, anti-bias and age appropriate curriculum for all children. -Supervises the development and implementation of all program activities, provides functional training and guidance to staff members assigned to the classroom. -Responsible to assign and monitor teacher classroom management, activity plans, activities a

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience Requirements -BA degree in Child Development, Human Services or related field with 24 units in Child Development including core courses (Child/Human Growth and Development, Child, Family and Community, Program/Curriculum) 6 in administration and 2 units in Adult Supervision. -Individual must possess or qualify for a Site Supervisor Permit. Core courses include:(Child/Human Growth and Development, Child, Family and Community, Program/Curriculum), 6 units in Administration and 2 units in Adult Supervision. -Bilingual (E/S) preferred. -Must hold a current Child Care CPR and Child Care Preventative Health & Safety training certification. -Three to five years’ experience working with families and children in an after school program. -Knowledge in Desired Results, Developmental Appropriate Practices -Knowledge of Title 22 and Title 5 regulations -Must be a team player Special Requirements -Must have a reliable automobile for use on the job (mileage to be reimbursed). Valid California Driver License. State required automobile insurance coverage. -TB test clearance to be renewed every two years. -Ability to work independently and as a team member. -Ability to prioritize and manage multiple and diverse priorities. -Must have the ability consistently show good judgment and decision-making skills. -Possess strong creative and organizational abilities.

After School Program employees must be able to perform the following physical activities: Observe, see, hear, and respond to children’s needs, emergencies and conflicts that may occur in the child development center or on the playground. Lift 30 pounds from the floor to a waist-high table when necessary. Reach a child 20 to 30 feet away within 30 seconds without endangering the staff person’s health. Crouch to a child’s height, maintain eye contact at the child’s level, sit on the floor and stand tall enough to reach children on the highest piece of equipment. Be aware of the cognitive, social and physical needs of children. Communicate verbally and writing in English to the degree that child, parents and other staff members are able to understand and respond. Handle the responsibilities and routine stress often associated with providing childcare services.
