Requirements / Qualifications

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the site principal or designee, the CTE Film/Video production teacher focuses on both the technical skills and organizational and managerial knowledge necessary to bring arts, media and entertainment to the public. The CTE teacher is responsible in providing instruction to students, planning to meet the needs of the entire group as well as individual students. The CTE teacher will create and lead daily lessons and activities. Outside the regular in class day, it is highly desirable for the instructor to facilitate opportunities for students to showcase their skills, participate in contests, competitions, scholarship opportunities, regional arts programs and other outside the class events that include school and district functions. These often take place on the weekends or after-school hours. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Designated Subjects Teaching Credential authorizing services in Arts, Media and Entertainment. • Bachelor of Arts degree in a related field to arts, media or entertainment. • Verify three years of work experience directly related to the subject. One year equal 1,500 clock hours. • May substitute 48 semester units of postsecondary vocational coursework related to the subject for a maximum of two of the five years of work experience. • At least one year of the required work experience must be within three years immediately preceding the issuance of the credential. • Valid California driver’s license and automobile • ELL Authorization

KNOWLEDGE: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of the industry safety standards and practices in all areas of technical production 2. Understand the technical support functions and artistic competencies in film, video and live production 3. Analyze and differentiate the function of various members of a production team 4. Demonstrate key skills and an understanding of the complexities of production planning 5. Apply knowledge of services, equipment capabilities, the workflow process, data acquisition, and technology to a timely completion of projects 6. Understand the key elements of developing and promoting a production from the creation to distribution 7.
