POSITION DETAILS The Personnel Commission and Fullerton School District is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time management position in our Human Resources division. The Director of Human Resources plans and directs human resource services in accordance with Personnel Commission rules and regulations, District policy, Bargaining Unit agreements, and applicable practices and laws. The Director serves as the executive officer to the Personnel Commission. In support of the Personnel Commission, the Director oversees the classification, recruitment, selection and retention of Classified employees based on Merit System principles. The Director also supports both Classified and Certificated Human Resources with the employee accommodations process and related personnel matters. This career opportunity is an exempt management 8 hours/day, 12 months/year position with paid holidays, sick leave, vacation, and a comprehensive benefits that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the applicant is likely to possess the required knowledge, skill and ability to perform the job duties: Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Public Administration or a closely related field. A Master’s Degree in a related area is preferred. Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of Human Resources, with two (2) years of recent management experience in a civil service setting. Experience in a California school district Merit System is preferred. Other License: • Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License is required. RECRUITMENT PROCESS This will be a promotional only recruitment open to current, permanent employees of the Fullerton School District. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination. The resulting eligibility list will be used for up to 1 year (twelve months) to fill vacancies.
