The South San Francisco Unified School District is one of the largest unified school districts in San Mateo County with an enrollment of 7,833 students and approximately 1,000 certificated and classified employees. It is comprised of three cities – South San Francisco and portions of San Bruno and Daly City. The District is located immediately south of San Francisco off Freeways 101 and 280, which traverse north and south throughout the three communities. The District has nine elementary schools, grades TK-5; three middle schools, grades 6-8; two comprehensive high schools, grades 9-12; one continuation education program; and an adult education and children’s center program. Child day care is offered at seven of the elementary school sites. The District’s student ethnic makeup is approximately 48% Hispanic, 21% Filipino, 7% Caucasian, 19% Asian, 2% African-American, 2% Pacific Islander, and 1% American Indian or Alaskan Native. The South San Francisco Unified School District and the City of South San Francisco share a history of cooperative ventures – business-education partnerships, and park and recreation programs. A team of community and parent programs promotes academic excellence through an established Strategic Planning Team, District Advisory Committees, PTAs , Booster Clubs and School-Site Councils. For the 2023-2024 school year, the District is offering a salary range from $201,743 - $ 240,892 plus benefits. A mileage stipend of $250 per month, a stipend allowance of $1,750 a month per year for a Master’s degree and $1,500 per year for a Doctorate degree is also included. The final salary will be based upon qualifications and experience. The work year is 260 contracted days with 26 days of vacation.
