White Learning Center serves our students in grades TK-2. ** Castle Rock Elementary School serves our students in grades 3-5. ** Woodlake Valley Middle School serves our students in grades 6-8. ** Woodlake High School serves grades 9-12 students, and the Three Rivers and Seville students join the district. ** Bravo Lake also serves students in grades 9-12 who need an alternative setting. ** Woodlake Community Day School serves students in grades 7-12.

Job Summary

This job of Speech & Language Assistant is done for the purpose/s of assisting a California State Certified or Licensed Speech & Language Specialist in providing services to students identified with speech and language disorders including articulation/phonology, cognition, language, motor speech, voice, fluency and hearing disorders; assisting in providing training in these of augmentative and assistive technology devices for communication.

Requirements / Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent; AA degree or at least 48 college units or passing score on the TCOE Instructional Aide Assessment Test; Valid CPR/First Aid Certification or willing to obtain if hired.

Effective computer, communication, and organizational skills; Skills to utilize best practices for addressing speech language and communication disorders; and, utilize best practices when assisting in the development of activities to address ; Knowledge of speech, language, and hearing delays and disorders; and, best practices for behavioral support and basic speech prompting strategies; Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with parents and other professionals; Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
