Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent, this position is responsible for leading, planning, organizing and directing assigned functions related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment at the secondary level; assists with providing leadership and coordination of curricular and instructional programs across all organizational levels; supports and coordinates the efforts of secondary principals and Instructional Support Services personnel; works collaboratively to support the District’s on-going development and improvement of a high quality educational program for students at the secondary level in the areas to ensure consistency across schools in standards implementation, effective teaching and learning practices resulting in increased academic achievement.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in related field (required); Master’s degree in related field (required); Doctoral degree (desirable) Experience Required: Successful teaching and/or administrative experience required; Successful experience in Curriculum and Instruction (district office and/or school site) experience desirable; Minimum three (3) years of successful teaching. Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing Required: Valid Administrative Services Credential (required); Valid CA Driver’s License and evidence of insurability; Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, and negative pre-employment drug screen test/negative TB results (upon hiring).
