The Vacancy: There is one 8-hour, 12-month open position in the Maintenance, Operations, Facilities, and Transportation Department. The list established from this recruitment will also be used to fill future vacancies and substitute/temporary positions for up to six months. The Position: Under general supervision, to perform a variety of maintenance, painting and repair work on District buildings, facilities, grounds and equipment, and to perform other job related work as required. The Maintenance Worker I performs basic maintenance and repair duties in accordance with well defined tasks and responsibilities. Incumbents usually follow specific instructions and schedules, often work under the direction of another employee and only occasionally operate specialized and power equipment.

Required Qualifications: Some experience in the construction, building and maintenance trades are desirable. Possession of the category of valid California driver's license required, meeting performance requirements of the position as determined by the State Department of Motor Vehicles rules, and the ability to qualify and maintain insurability by the District’s liability insurance carrier’s standard.
