Location: Blanche Charles Elementary POS 497 Work schedule: TBD (6 hrs) Location: Dool Elementary POS 338 Work schedule: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Location:Kennedy Gardens Elementary POS 328 Work schedule: TBD (6 hrs) Location: Mains Elementary POS 334 Work schedule: TBD (6 hrs) POS 341 Work schedule: TBD (6 hrs) Location: Rockwood Elementary POS 1323 Work schedule: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Location: William Moreno Jr. High School POS 335 Work schedule: TBD (6 hr) These positions are part of the increase in hours MOU between CSEA Chapter #399 (CSEA) and Calexico Unified School District dated March 18, 2022 and ratified by CSEA on April 26, 2022 which reads as follows: Memorandum of Understanding between the California School Employees Association its Calexico Chapter #399 (CSEA) and Calexico Unified School District The District and CSEA agree to the following: The District shall offer all 3-hour Instructional Assistants an opportunity to increase their working hours by 3 hours. *Unit members who select to increase their working hours to 6 hours a day, shall be entitled to fringe benefits including, but not limited to health and welfare benefits and CALPERS service credits. *Once the funds for additional hours are exhausted, unit members would follow the layoff process identified in Article XVII, section 3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between CSEA and CUSD. The District intends to fill positions mentioned in provision 1 and 2 of this agreement until one-time funds have been exhausted. The District reserves the right to layoff and reduce hours as provided by the CBA and applicable law.
Requirements / Qualifications
ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES NEED THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate’s or higher degree, or two years of higher education study and one year of experience working with students requiring a specialized learning environment. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Some positions in this classification may be required to speak, read or write in a designated second language.
ELIGIBILITY LIST An eligibility list will be created from this recruitment and will be good for one year or until the list is exhausted. It will be used as follows: 1. To fill future permanent vacancies which may occur during the life of the eligibility list; 2. To create a list of substitutes for the current class and other related classes. Substitutes work on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent employees. Applications must be submitted by the deadline and will be screened for completion. Only if the application is complete will it then be screened for eligibility and meeting the minimum requirements. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements and whose application was complete at the time the recruitment closed will move forward to the following examination process:
Examination Process- A multiple choice exam will be administered to evaluate the applicant's jobrelated knowledge. The exam consists of different categories such as grammar, spelling, punctuation, basic math, reading comprehension, safety, principles, and/or practices of the trade or profession. The weight of this exam is 100%. The date of the multiple choice exam is TBD. Applicants need to achieve a minimum passing score of 70%. Eligible applicants will be notified via email to the email address listed in their Edjoin application of the date of the oral exam.
Applicants who score at least a 70% in the Multiple Choice Exam will be placed on an eligibility list (good for up to one year) in rank order of their examination score. Interviews are made from the top three ranks from a promotional eligibility list (current employees). If less than three ranks of promotional applicants are available, the remaining rank(s) will be obtained from the open eligibility list (outside applicants).
If fewer than three ranks are available for certifications a new examination/recruitment may be requested and conducted. Merit Rule 50.200.4 (B).
Please note that if a new recruitment is requested and conducted, you will maintain your examination score from the multiple choice examination however, your rank may change as a result of subsequent recruitments. The scores of new eligible applicants from the subsequent recruitments will be merged with the initial eligibility list.

Any permanent classified employee of the District who voluntarily resigns from his permanent position may be reinstated or reemployed by the Board of Education of the District within 39 months after his last day of paid service and without further competitive examination, to a position in his former classification as a permanent or limited-term employee in a related lowers class in which the employee formerly had permanent status.
If there is no permanent classified employee requesting reemployment or if the Board of Education chooses not to reemploy an employee making this request, the following is the order of precedence. Merit Rule 50.200.1 A
Names shall be certified for appointment from employment lists in the sequence that follows:
1. Automatic appointments to Layoff Reemployment list candidates, until exhausted;
2. The top three ranks on the Promotional eligibility list (current districts employees) will go to the interview;
3. If less than three ranks of Promotional candidates are available, the remaining rank(s) will be obtained from the Open eligibility list (outside applicants).

• Perform clerical duties related to classroom activities and program requirements.
• Monitor, observe and report student behavior and progress according to approved policies and procedures.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
