Requirements / Qualifications

THE POSITION: The Administrative Assistant provides a variety of complex and technical administrative support to the Department Administrator. Duties include providing technical and/or specialized administrative support in the functional operations of the office planning, coordinating and organizing program activities, disseminating information and communications on behalf of the department. This job reports to Assigned Administrator. LOCATION: TBD TYPICAL DUTIES: Compiles and processes data from a wide variety of sources to prepare reports, makes recommendations, and prepares correspondence for disseminating. Coordinates a variety of projects, functions and/or program components to meet service delivery goals within deadlines. Develops and maintains a variety of documents files, records and database systems. Participates in a variety of meetings such as committees, workshops, and/or training and prepares minutes, communications, and supports the needs of the attendees. Prepares a variety complex and technical reports, documents and correspondence of a confidential and non-confidential nature. Develops and presents information on administrative processes and procedures including orienting new administrative staff and/or disseminating information to existing staff. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of progressively responsible experience providing complex and technical administrative level support to a department administrator. Associates Degree (A.A.) preferred. Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience.
