Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education 2. Current New Mexico PED PreK-12 Administrative License. 3. Two to Five years of secondary teaching experience. 4. Must pass background checks. 5. Completion of NMPED Coaching Courses 6. Valid NM Driver’s License Preferred Qualifications 1. Three (3) years of experience in coaching 2. Secondary school coaching experience 3. Master’s Degree in Education 4. First Aid/ CPR Certified Nature of Work The Dual School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director assumes major responsibility for leading and managing a wide variety of administrative tasks related to the students, staff, parents, and/or community members associated with the middle school, high school and school district, remaining consistent with policies of the Board of Education and under the leadership of the Principal of both campuses. The Dual School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director is expected to work with leadership at all levels of administration to provide a program of continuity throughout the school system, and works closely with the school improvement process, as well as being responsible for a variety of school administrative functions. The Dual School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director also works as the athletic director and works closely with all building athletic and activities programs at both campuses.

Work is performed in a standard office environment. Light physical demands; frequent use of a personal computer and standard office equipment. Frequent District-wide travel.

Position involves competing demands, performing multiple tasks, working to deadlines, occasional work beyond normal business hours, and responding to customer issues. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity of services.
