Wage band range $66,5600 to $95,000 (10-month); however, it is ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.  Please note: staffing in our NPS Program is determined by student enrollment. The position may qualify for bilingual pay incentive. Casa Pacifica is a fully certified with commendations by the State Department of Education, our NPS serves children/youth ages 8 through 18 placed in the Residential Treatment Program or Assessment, Stabilization, and Permanency Center as well as day students from surrounding communities. Casa Pacifica is expanding our non-public school educational services to Northern Santa Barbara County, with an exciting new opportunity to build out services in the Lompoc area. Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Education/Principal, the Special Education Teacher will instruct special education students individually and in small groups in accordance with Casa Pacifica’s policies and procedures; develop and implement IEP goals, assess students, and coordinate programs to increase independence and functioning in society, socially, vocationally, and academically.  Opportunities available now and for 2024-2025 school year.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and implement curriculum and lesson plans for individualized and group instruction; schedule instructional periods; assess student progress; teach core academic subjects in alignment with common core standards, next-generation science standards, and California frameworks.  Instruct in other academic areas related to student grade level, including math competencies, student computer proficiency, writing skills, and art media. Instruct students with emotional disturbances utilizing individualized programming in order to implement and achieve IEP goals. Valid California Special Education Credential. Bachelor's degree in relevant field, Master's degree preferred; or three to five years related experience and /or training with severely emotionally disturbed students; experience in academic testing (PIAT, WRAT) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Interns will be considered.
