JOB SUMMARY The San Dieguito Union High School District (SDUHSD) Governing Board is seeking a forward-thinking leader to serve as the district’s next Superintendent. Located in north San Diego County, SDUHSD serves 13,000 students from five elementary feeder districts: Cardiff, Del Mar, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe, and Solana Beach. Booming population growth and demographic diversity have characterized the area over the last two decades, with families moving here from all parts of the world to experience exceptional learning opportunities and high standards of education. From surfers to scientists, from beach cottages to high tech towers, San Dieguito represents a broad range of the socio-economic spectrum. LEADERSHIP PROFILE Successful candidates must posses an un-paralleled record of distinction along with a proven ability to: • Set a clear vision/direction for student learning. • Create unity among internal and external stakeholders. • Build trust and stability across the organization. • Lead with a mindset of transparency and inclusion. • Think beyond traditional boundaries to connect with the community. • Ensure the long-term fiscal health of the district. • Work effectively with the Governing Board.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE • A public school leader with demonstrated success at the cabinet level, preferably as a Superintendent • Evidence of leading programs that accelerate student achievement • Working knowledge of K-12 instruction, business and human resource functions within the State of California • An individual who can make a long-term commitment to the district • Masters Degree or higher APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS • Completed EDJOIN application along with the following uploaded documents: - Cover Letter - Resume - Minimum of three (maximum of five) current Letters of Recommendation - Response to two essay questions (Not to exceed 300 words per question) 1.
