Job Summary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE: Under general supervision, this person performs specialized technical Risk Management and Safety duties requiring a high level of skill in document management, spreadsheet use, and database management. This person works with all aspects of Risk Management and Safety, Security and Disaster Preparedness operations. Consistently maintaining ethical behavior and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality are essential. Specific Duties Include: Knowledge of: • Establish and maintain relationship with insurance brokers for worker’s compensation • Receive and process injury reports, ensuring complete documentation of incident • Obtain documentation for claims (wage statements, job description, accommodation verifications, etc) • Provide work status reports • Receive and file documents • Assist employees, staff and supervisors with WC procedures and questions • Maintain training database • Assign training: new employees and annual mandated compliance trainings • Manage and track mandated training • Work with managers to assign training modules as requested • Perform tasks in support of disaster preparedness and emergency supplies • Provide support to ergonomic and workplace safety programs • Other duties as assigned Essential Skills Include the Ability to: • maintain accurate records • proficiently use Microsoft Office Suite (word processing, database, spreadsheet, and communications software) • learn and apply District procedures and policies • communicate effectively orally and in writing • use judgment, tact, patience, and courtesy in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with District staff, parents, and the public • apply problem-solving skills to maintain department efficiency and effectiveness • record and process numerical data accurately and efficiently • understand and follow oral and written instructions ability to work independently
