VUSD is seeking a transformational leader to serve as the Principal at Vista High School, a large comprehensive high school in North San Diego, California, with a diverse student population. Vista High has an award-winning marching band, a comprehensive Career Technical Education program, and a whole-child approach with a Wellness Center and a ninth-grade Wellness class. Site work is supported by a district commitment to expanded funding for the arts, athletics, and extracurriculars as well as professional development for deep learning, our learner portrait and performance framework, innovation, and transformation design. Vista High is currently in the process of redesigning and redeveloping the campus, with new campus buildings and an athletic complex, and scheduled renovations of the band, kitchen, agriculture facilities, and the stadium and track. The candidate should have experience in school administration and instructional leadership that has led to improved results in student performance should possess exceptional communication skills, and should demonstrate a working knowledge of the challenges as well as the direction of education in the twenty-first century. Signing bonus of $10,000 to be paid over three years for the selected candidate.
