We’re hiring! LACOE is looking for a Public Affairs Specialist – someone who can write, direct, and oversee the public affairs on behalf of the Superintendent and other high-ranking administrators. Tasks include creating, planning and researching communications for events, speeches, publications, press conferences and more.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, graphic design, cinematic arts/film/television productions, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Three years of experience developing and implementing communications and public relations activities for a communications, public relations, public affairs, or marketing department or agency. Equivalency Provision: A master’s degree in English, communications, journalism, public relations, graphic design, cinematic arts/film/television productions, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation, may substitute for one year of the required experience. Additional Requirements: A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required. Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
