Job Summary
The Dean of Students is a dynamic educational leader who works collaboratively with the Vice President for Mission and Student Life to cultivate a safe, positive, and orderly school environment that is conducive to learning and personal character growth. The Dean partners with students, teachers, staff, and parents to create and maintain a school environment that animates our Lasallian Catholic mission to educate students in a “moral, caring, and joyful” environment. The Dean works with the Academic and Student Services teams to foster an environment where students are loved, instructed, and guided to become Men of Faith, Integrity, and Scholarship, The Dean promotes and tracks good attendance rates and ensures school safety and student well-being. Additionally, the Dean supports the teaching faculty by collaboratively developing rules, procedures, and classroom management programs. The Dean is proactive and uses data to inform decision-making in working to identify students with attendance issues, disciplinary problems, and address those issues with parents and guardians to generate positive outcomes. The Dean of Students acts as a partner to faculty, staff, and families to ensure the holistic success of our students.
Requirements / Qualifications
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE Understands and supports the Mission, Vision, and Culture of the school Has 3-5 years of previous secondary-level administrative experience including significant supervisory experience {preferred} Helps to uphold the school’s mission, precepts, and philosophy, especially the school’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging Has experience with restorative practices Models appropriate professional boundaries with students, colleagues, parents, and community partners Supports the academic, co-curricular, and spiritual life of the school community Has excellent time management and organizational skills Is comfortable with speaking in front of large audiences Thrives in a collaborative, dynamic, and faithful learning community Wholeheartedly enjoys working with teens Has an understanding of Catholic, Lasallian traditions and values {preferred}
