Job Summary

The Alternative Education Teacher provides academic instruction to students in community school settings. The teacher provides direct instruction in the core academic content areas to support student progress and provides special education services, as per the students’ Individual Education Plans (IEP).

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a valid California Multiple Subject Credential or valid California Single Subject Credential in a CORE subject; AND • Possession of a valid California Education Specialist Credential with authorization either in Mild/Moderate Disabilities or Mild to Moderate Support Needs. NECESSARY MATERIALS FOR APPLICATION • Ed-Join online application; • Copy of valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service to students with Mild/Moderate (CCTC online printout) OR proof of eligibility to obtain the authorization (if not registered with County Credentials). This posting is Internal for SBCTA Bargaining Unit Members of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of School employees. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications and provide all necessary materials online prior to the stated deadline to qualify as a candidate.
