The Long Beach City College District is seeking a qualified and motivated individual for the role of Director, Risk Management & Campus Safety. The Director, Risk Management & Campus Safety is responsible for managing and integrating a program of broad, services for the District, including risk management and loss control, insurance, environmental and occupational health and safety programs and reporting, parking services, contracted police services, and the state Emergency Management System and federal National Incident Management program. The incumbent provides advice and counsel to reduce and mitigate risk/liability exposure and ensure District compliance with federal and state regulations regarding environmental and occupational health and safety and for developing, implementing and managing program strategies and objectives to ensure alignment with District priorities.
AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION
• Type of position: Full Time (M-F, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm)
• Location: Liberal Art Campus, but will support both campuses
• Salary: MGT RANGE
Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under policy direction, plans, organizes, integrates and directs the District's risk management program, occupational health and safety plan, parking and contracted police services, and emergency planning function. Provides professional assistance and support to District management and the Board of Trustees on environmental/occupational health and safety, emergency management, and other policy and planning matters; and performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration or a closely related field; and seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience within the fields of health and safety, risk management or other related field, with at two (2) of those years were in a supervisory or management capacity. Experience in an academic institution or public agency is preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master's degree is preferred.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
May require a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the district's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.

For experience substitution in lieu of education, please make sure to attach a statement clearly outlining how your additional experience covers the education requirement, on a year-for-year basis, and qualifies you to be considered for this position.
• If you participate in and fail any examination segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (~3 months) to test again for the same classification.

The following examination segments are pass/fail and may be utilized during the selection process:

An Online Written Test or Oral Panel Interview may be used to assess applicant qualifications. Test parts are determined by the size and competitiveness of the candidate pool.
The qualified candidates will be placed on an unranked list. Seniority points for internal existing LBCC employees and points for Veteran's credit will not be added. The unranked list will be submitted to the hiring authority for consideration.
