About the Employer

Charter Academy of the Redwoods is a nonprofit organization that operates two small charter schools in Ukiah. It was founded in 1999 and opened its first school in 2000, Redwood Collegiate Academy whose mission is to prepare students for college and independent living. In 2002 it opened its second school Sequoia Career Academy whose mission is to prepare students for a successful future with a focus on career education.

This position is serving special education students with push in/pull out services beginning in the 2026-2027 year in a small charter school with a strong team atmosphere.

Specific Duties:
·Ensure the success of all SPED students in one or more core curriculum subjects 
·Maintain accurate records related to special education
·Participate actively in staff workshops to integrate curriculum, enhance professional skills, enhance school climate
·Work cooperatively with other staff to improve student learning and create a positve school climate
·Prepare students to achieve at their highest possible level on mandated testing programs
·Maintain contact with student-families about student progress and needs personally and through the web
·Ensure that the school is safe, challenging, and well-managed
