Welcome! Our unified P-12 district serves about 4,300 students and consists of the Amador County Unified School District and the Amador County Office of Education. Our schools and communities are nestled in the heart of the Gold Country in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, close to San Francisco, Sacramento, Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. Amador County Unified School District has two comprehensive high schools, one alternative high school, two junior high schools and six elementary schools.

Amador County Unified School District is currently going through a consolidation process. Our two current high schools will be merging to create the new consolidated high school, yet to be named, to be housed at the current Argonaut High School location. We are looking for someone with experience in consolidation and/or opening a new high school. For the next two years this position will lead the planning for consolidating two high schools into one. Beginning August 2025 this position will function as the day to day principal for the consolidated high school, yet to be named.
Requirements / Qualifications
Valid California Administrative Services Credential BA degree: MA degree desired; training in the broad aspect of school administration. Experience: Successful teaching and administrative experience, minimum of 5 years of leadership experience preferred.
