POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full-time Computer Technician I position in our Innovation and Instructional Support Department. Under general supervision of the Innovation & Instructional Support Department Supervisor, this position uses a moderate level of skills to repair, maintain and install District computers and related software. Routine duties may be performed independently or may assist a higher-level employee. Site assigned employees provide instructional assistance to students related to the use of information technology. This opportunity is an 8-hours/day, 9.50-month position with paid holidays, sick leave, vacation, and a comprehensive health benefits package of health, dental, vision and life insurance. Work hours are expected to be Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: Graduation from high school equivalent. Experience: One year performing diagnostic testing, repair and preventive maintenance on computers and related hardware. This includes successful work experience with repairing Apple desktop and laptop computers and some MS-DOS/Windows computers. License: * Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License and insurability to drive a District vehicle as part of the District’s Pull Notice program is required. * A copy of recent (less than one month old from the recruitment closing date) DMV online driver record is required and should be submitted with application. RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future vacancies. Date of Examination The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
