Job Summary

Job Summary

This position requires a moderate/severe special education credential. Job duties may include: serve as case carrier students enrolled in primarily special and general education classes and/or teaching content area classes within the special day program, timely completion of Individualized Education Plans, monitoring for compliance, consultation / collaboration with general education teachers to support student success, assisting students with organization of time / materials, preteaching/ reteaching core content in algebra / geometry as needed, identifying and providing reasonable accommodations / modifications, ensuring distribution of IEP's to general education teachers, scheduling / facilitating IEP meetings and developing compliant IEP documents , providing academic assessments when needed, interpreting assessment results and completing report of findings, providing inservice to general education staff, providing supervision and guidance to teaching assistants, developing positive behavior support plans as needed, maintaining open communication with teachers & parents to ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner, and other duties as assigned.
