Administrative Assistant I relieves the workload of a manager by performing responsible administrative and staff duties; leads the work of assigned classified staff. Administrative Aide assists a manager by performing delegated administrative duties and accomplishing assigned projects; coordinates school site/department functions; trains and directs the work of assigned staff. Elementary School Assistant relieves the workload of a site administrator and staff by performing delegated administrative duties and accomplishing assigned projects; coordinating school activities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: School Clerk I Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to one (1) year of recent, full-time equivalent, paid office-clerical experience. One (1) school year (ten full-time equivalent months) is acceptable. School Clerk II Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to two years of recent, full-time equivalent, paid increasingly responsible office-clerical experience. Two school years (twenty full-time equivalent months) are acceptable. Possession of a valid California driver’s license and availability of private vehicles may be required for designated positions (mileage expense allowance provided). LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: School Clerk I Requires that incumbents be skilled in typing/keyboarding at a minimum of 25 words per minute*. School Clerk II Requires that incumbents be skilled in typing/keyboarding at a minimum of 40 words per minute*. (*) Applicants must certify in writing that they have such skills. Demonstrated proficiency will be expected during the probationary period for the class.
