Requirements / Qualifications

For K-5 teachers the following is required: • Multiple Subject Credential including English Learner Authorization For TK teachers the following is required: • Multiple Subject Credential including English Learner Authorization and one of the following a) At least 24 semester units of Early Childhood Education, and/or Childhood Development (reflected on submitted transcripts) or b) Valid Child Development Teacher permit issued by CTC (must include CTC copy of permit) ** Note, any teacher who is or was assigned to teach TK, or a combination of kindergarten and TK, on or before July 1, 2015, is "grandfathered in" to teach TK without having to meet the additional unit requirement for TK teachers set forth in Education Code section 48000(g) (must include proof of assignment) **
