DEFINITION Under supervision, to assist a classroom teacher or other staff member in the performance of their duties related to the educational program of the district; and to do other job related work as required. CLASS CHARACTERISTICS The duties of persons assigned to this class are normally associated directly with student instruction or supervision or materials related to instruction in designated programs. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Based upon specific instructions: assists teacher or other staff personnel in supervising students; assembles and cleans instructional media; prepares instructional materials; assists in maintaining an orderly learning environment; assists in classroom instruction of designated students; performs clerical duties related to the instructional program; operates audio visual equipment; maintains records as required by the supervisor and program guidelines; may assist any certificated staff person supervising an activity related to the instructional program or a student activity.
