Job Summary
The CASTLE Program Director is directly responsible for the effective management and operation of the CASTLE Pre-school program, Child Care Program and all CASTLE holiday and summer camp activities. The Site Director is responsible for recruitment and selection of staff, their program assignment and on-going training and evaluation. The Program Director provides for the planning and coordination of the education program for all students by facilitating such planning activities with site directors and program staff. The Program Director is directly responsible for effective staff morale and clear, timely communication among and between the programs employees, families, and the school district. The Program Director ensures that all students are treated in a caring, respectful manner. The Program Director works with site personnel to facilitate the planning of instructional activities with staff and the implementation of activities and field trips in support of student learning. The director is responsible for the oversight of the program budgets, materials inventory, and student attendance records. The Program Director provides for effective standards of conduct for students in the various programs and ensures that facilities, daily activities and staff provide a safe environment for participants.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. • Must have completed with passing grades the equivalent of 24 semester units of college level work in Early Childhood Education or child development. • Must have completed six additional semester units in administration and supervision of a child development program, as well as 2 or more units in adult supervision. • Must have successfully completed at least one year of child development site supervision. • Must have at least four years of work experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program. • Ability to lift light to moderate objects and assist young students in regaining their feet/balance. • Ambulatory ability to go to different locations and accompany students on walking field trips within the community. • Ability to spend significant time standing and walking as part of supervision and activity responsibilities. • Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers as part of daily activities • Requires speaking and hearing to communicate with students, staff, and members of the community in person or over the phone.
We are looking to hire and have someone on board to shadow the current director for a couple months or more, as a paid employee.
