Requirements / Qualifications
PLEASE NOTE: Effective January 1, 2013, all new classified managers wll have to pay their own PERS. A completed EDJOIN classified management application Letter of Introduction Three (3) current letters of recommendation signed/dated within the last three years - MUST BE SIGNED NO ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES Resume Proof of education (transcripts or diploma) Copy of valid ANSI Food Safety Certification
Please Note: Graduation from high school or equivalent; any combination equivalent to: Associates Degree in Food Management, Nutrition or related field or Associates Degree, supplemented by courses in nutrition, management, supervision, and sanitation. May substitute Associates Degree with six years of responsible food service supervisory experience in institutional or commercial large quantity food preparation and service facility. Two years paid supervisory experience in the preparation and serving of approximately 10,000 meals per day. Must maintain a minimum of 10 hours of annual continuing education in accordance to the USDA’s Professional Standards. Experience within a K-12 public education agency nutrition program is preferred. Must possess a valid California Driver's License, during the course of employment. Must be insurable at standard rates and maintain such insurability during the course of employment. Must possess and maintain a valid ANSI Food Safety Certification. Desirable candidate will have certification in the School Nutrition Association (SNA) or California School Nutrition Association (CSNA).
