Requirements / Qualifications

Under administrative direction, to assist schools that are implementing programs under the consolidated application and federal and state grants; and to direct, supervise and manage the District's Program for English Learners (EL). EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: 1. A valid California administrative or supervisory credential. 2. A Master's Degree or alternative job-related training that demonstrates research and student program development skills and academic proficiency in a job-related major or specialization. 3. A Language Development Specialist Certificate, Bilingual Certificate of Competence or a Bilingual Cross-cultural Credential issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to teach limited English proficient students. 4. At least five (5) years' successful experience in public school teaching and/or administrative experience with English Learner students. 5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. 6. Bilingual Required (English/Spanish)

SUHSD includes four middle schools, grades 7-8, five high schools, grades 9-12, a continuation high school, an alternative school, an adult school and ROP facilities.
